GIM Infrastructure

Lighting columns, speed light poles and street structures made from enhanced composites rather than steel or concrete.

A composite lighting column with an illuminated head standing on a concrete base in a darkened industrial hall, alongside a bundle of composite reinforcement bar and a filament-wound pressure vessel, each ringed by warm gold light.

The problem

Street furniture rusts from the base up

A steel column corrodes where it meets the ground, out of sight, and the failure mode is structural. A non-metallic column removes that mechanism, and weighs little enough to change how it is installed.

Applications

  • Lighting columns
  • Speed light poles
  • Street furniture and utility structures
  • Sensor-ready and instrumented structures
